Sung Shi Kyung speaks about the power of girl groups in the army
Singer Sung Shi Kyung made his long-awaited radio comeback and spoke of his experiences during his military service.
After two years of serving the country, Sung made his official broadcast comeback on the 10th on “Bae Chul Soo’s Music Camp“.
Sung Shi Kyung recalled that he was asked to pick his favorite girl group member and how he picked actress Shin Se Kyung instead. He stated with a laugh, “In the army, girl groups and Shin Se Kyung become great strength to the soldiers. My young friends in the army post pictures of girl groups on their cabinet and gain hope by talking about them.”
He also added, “Now that I’m out of the army, I can have a more objective view while my replacements are gaping at girl groups. One time, I told them, ‘those girls probably have boyfriends too,’ and everyone glared at me with hateful eyes. They told me, ‘That’s not possible. Don’t talk like that.‘”
Sung also revealed his desire to be a radio DJ once again, saying, “I have many fond memories of DJ-ing before serving in the army. However, I also remember having difficulties during that time, so I’m deliberating on whether I can do it again. Still, I want to try it.”
Meanwhile, Sung responded to rumors of his comeback in October, explaining, “I can’t say for sure. I have about half the amount of songs needed for an album. I’m producing it myself and trying to write the songs also.”
