Four-Leaf “Lucky” Clover Tattoos

If you think about Ireland, what comes to your mind first? Green color, St. Patrick’ day, green beer and, of course, flora symbols of the country – shamrock, as well as four-leaf clover. In fact, shamrock is a tree-leaf clover and has rather a long tradition of symbolic usage starting from the time of druids all the way to Christianity and modern times.

The Emerald isle, Ireland, is often imagined as inhabited by the Leprechauns playing the harp, as the land of hills and dales covered with numerous species of clover. While shamrock can be often seen in fields and meadows, four-leaf clover is an exception, rather than a rule. The chances that you find the latter are estimated to be 10,000 to 1. That’s why it is considered to be a good luck to find it.

Here we see the reason of clover tattoos’ popularity. These tattoos have a large following not only among the Irish, but a lot of people from all over the world resort to clover tattoos. They believe that this will make them lucky whenever they go and whatever they do. Getting this kind of a tattoo can be compared to our childhood experience of searching for a four-leaf clover and eventually finding it!
